In regards to screening for Ebola at airports. A person can be free of fever at the terminal such as in the case of Mr. Duncan, and 3 days later present to the E.R. with full blown Ebola. There is no such thing as screening for the prevention of spread. Once a person has fever, they are contagious. The only way to contain this virus is at its source. There must be a ban placed on all air travel from all hot spots, otherwise this virus is going to spread like wild fire. What we are currently observing is only the beginning of a major epidemic in this country. Despite all the procedures and precautions the Govt has in place. It isnt enough. Its a matter of bans, and quarantines of all known cases and contacts. How many of you could see this coming when the physician and missionary were flown to the United States for treatment? Even though they were flown in under very controlled circumstances, this was to prevent widespread panic thus easing the anxiety of citizens as more cases would enter into our nation. Soon we will be into a full blown epidemic with the same numbers of deaths as West Africa.
