In response to Dai Boes email this morning, this is what Mrs. Mary Karo - Chairlady of Eda Ranu - wrote: Dear Dai & organizing Committee Members, I personally am overwhelmed by the performance of our Athletes but in particular the two (2) weight lifters; Steven and Dika with their huge efforts in attaining the top level Medals for their Country, Family, Province, Village and all of us. We stand PROUD to know that PNG has been Blessed through these two and others who also tried their best. Their number now adds up to 3 for Gold from the Big Village (Hanuabada), Congratulations and an extremely excellent performance. Secondly in terms of support: I am approving the following : 1. Tipper Truck to be made available, please ensure appropriate ‘welcome slogans’ hang off the sides 2. Eda Ranu Tent/s 3. 30/50 Eda Ranu Shirts 4. Cash or kind (will advise in due course but prior to the actual date) All appropriate line managers to take note and action asap. Just a reminder & Note: Please ensure ‘Traffic’ Police are informed of any convoy of vehicles and the routes – should they approve, also inform our Local Radio Stations so announcements can be made accordingly. Schools such as “- Badihagwa; St Michael, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, etc especially from Hanuabada area should be requested to have their students line up (in full uniforms) on the road sides to welcome the HEROS. The entire Motukoitabu Councillors and villagers should also accord the Heros’ WELCOME to Steven and Dika.
