In response to a growing number of requests by the boomer generation, I have been in initial discussion with my colleagues and partners with the idea of developing a policy for boomers, that is similar to the one we developed for 18-29 year olds, An emergency hospitalization and evacuation policy only for emergency situations not a general health policy but low premiums and limited but effective cover to deal with serious accidents etc here. There is significant resistance by Insurers to binding cover for people over 65 and a flat refusal for people over 74. We are considering an entry age limit, at the lower end of 60 and an upper entry limit of 80, renewable yearly In order to decide if it is worthwhile to take this further if anyone would like to make a constructive comment of how the idea of a policy costing between $1000 and $2000 per annum sounds it will provide a “simple straw test” about taking this further ....
