In response to the latest news form the Smooth Commission saying all partys are now agreed on full Income Tax raising powers for Scotland, page fan Andy posts the following: Its like saying you dont want a car but then going out getting driving lessons, passing your test, paying for a liscence, buying screenwash and a pair of string-backed tan leather driving gloves. At some point you WILL want a car...!! Further devolution is playing into seppies hands and may well convince the future undecideds that Scotland running itself IS possible. You will be relying on the steadfast NOs staying steadfast NOs! I think what Scotland should be doing is saying NO to further devolution but putting someone in power who is unionist who will actually USE the powers you already have!! Maybe the rest of the UK will start to become more relaxed with Scotlands situation. Scotland demanding more powers when it doesnt even use the powers its got properly is rather like demanding a bag of sweets, stuffing you face until some overflow out again and then demanding another bag and leaving some left in the bottom of the old one. The rUK will start to get fed up of watching it happen...! Scotland is in a lose/lose, positive feedback situation right now and the only way i see of stopping it is for the unionists to all agree on a strategy and force it on the nationalists with a stronger vigour than they them.
