In state after state, we are seeing what the status quo truly is: A cop can shoot an kill pretty much anyone, with no state prosecutor willing to indict them. The prosecutors need the cops on their side in most cases, and they wont upset that apple cart by holding one accountable when they wrongfully kill someone. A prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, but not a cop who kills someone in the line of duty. Only the U.S. Department of Justice can take action to stop this alarming cultural trend of skittish cops with hair triggers killing innocent civilians and getting away with it. I hope they will. huffingtonpost/2014/12/23/jordan-baker-no-indictment_n_6373988.html
