In the 74 1/2 year of my life, I enjoyed what I consider to be one - TopicsExpress

In the 74 1/2 year of my life, I enjoyed what I consider to be one of my best Christmases ever, if not the best one! In addition to all the Christmas celebrations I enjoyed, the Christmas tea I attended, the Childrens program last Sunday, our oldest daughter Andrea came and ate Christmas dinner with us. Both of our sons called on the phone from Texas and Ky while we were enjoying our dinner and Christmas, we spoke with the two youngest grandchildren in Ky about the gifts we had sent them. It was a wonderful Christmas Day. I am following doctors orders and taking my medicine, feeling better and we still had time to visit the 4th annual Christmas with Doug and Sandys family for a few minutes. We were blessed with gifts from Jay and Andrea and Ann that we havent had time to explore yet! Best of all we have JESUS and nothing will ever be greater than JESUS and the peace He brings into our hearts and homes! We were able to enjoy that in our home this year for Christmas Eve as Fred, OREO and me celebrated a quiet and very peaceful evening in our home with JESUS alone! I stop short of calling this my best Christmas ever, only because the early Christmas years of my childrens lives when they were small had to be my best Christmases ever! I always enjoyed seeing their delight at the trucks, doll babies and doll strollers, blow up life size GI Joes that my oldest son enjoyed when G I Joe first came on the scene. After all his dad was a GI Joe (Fred), and we lived on the military base where the real tanks and trucks sat in rows not far from our home. The real guns could be heard at times as the soldiers went to the firing range a few miles away to practice firing those guns if they needed to. Christmas brings back so many memories of years gone by, but so thankfulness for all the good years God has given us all! Here is GI Joe about to reach his 78 th year mark in life! He has traded in the guns and secret spying days for the sword of the word as he simply loves his volunteer work at the Upper Room! Every time he can blow a leaf off the roof or change a light bulb, he is delighted. Thanks to our daughter Andrea for taking time out of her day and preparation for her trip to the mountains in search of snow, to deliver gifts from she and her brother who was out of state, to bring cheer and spend some quality time with her parents, not out of obligation but because she wanted to! Let there be peace on earth! I pray for peace in your heart and in your home, for peace in our country and for the peace of Jerusalem!
