In the August issue (p. 23) of Running Times there is an article on hill workouts that highlights the Ardrey Woods Hill (Charlotte, NC) that I use with several of my runners. There were several pictures of Pezz doing a workout on this hill in the recent feature article on her in the Charlotte Observer and this afternoon Alana blasted a 16 x 400 hill workout on it as well as part of her prep for the Indy Monumental Marathon. The beauty of the hill is its steep enough to produce a serious resistance effect while being gentle enough to still run it fast, building stride power and well as speed and economy.
