In the absence of Richard Fowler the task of posting tonights ride - TopicsExpress

In the absence of Richard Fowler the task of posting tonights ride has fallen on my shoulders so here it is, warts n all (as I best remember it anyway)........10 Hellcats set off from the Square a little later than usual and headed to South Molton for the first of many JB stops (I lost count how many there were tonight!).....thence across the link road to North Molton via a steep and dark back lane known as Burcombe Hill, passing the NM sports academy along the way. A brief interlude (and more JBs of course) in the shelter of the local filling station while OGL consulted his maps led to another dark lane which somehow brought us to Brayford (JBs again) whereupon Matt saved a wondering toad from the wheels of our many bikes (I wonder where he thought he was going that time of night?). The usual chase through Gunn and Goodleigh towards home then ensued, interrupted by a puncture to Chris Martins bike - a fine demo of the tyre changing skills learnt at the Bike Shed recently followed by OGLs pump special. Chase to town resumed and ended in the Square. 29 miles in all - not the 38 we were promised by Google Maps - Im sure its the American mile to blame. A fine ride. I cant let this pass without a mention for poor Andrew Gouldbourne. On behalf of us all I wish him well and a speedy recovery. Say it quietly, but Ive heard the sun will shine this weekend so whos up for a ride Sunday?
