In the beginning of time, God had a marvelous plan. In His infinite wisdom He knew that, of all the women in this world there would only be one who would have the patience to endure raising a certain boy...who would love him unquestioningly, and believe in him unfailingly. Who would be equipped with the talents of nurse, teacher, coach, fundraiser, supporter, guidance counselor, and protector. Nurse, as you would kiss away every scraped knee, broken bone, and sit up sleepless nights to calm every fever. Teacher as you would patiently go through the rigors of homework night after night with one who would so much rather be outside chasing balls or collecting fireflies. Coach as you would be there building tackling dummies from Air Force duffel bags to teach this young lad how to properly tackle, and how you would wear your arm out pitching him baseball after baseball teaching him how to hit. Fundraiser, as you would cart your son all over towns in Texas and Tennessee to help him sell Worlds Finest chocolate bars to raise money for whatever team he was playing on that season. Supporter is such an understatement when it comes to you. No matter the weather you would follow this son of yours season after season, game after game, no matter the distance as he grew from an uncoordinated tyke, to a confident athlete and coach....no matter what you were always there, in good times, and in losing times, bolstering his spirit. Guidance counselor...You always had sage advice, no matter the situation he would go through, yet you also were always quick to listen and resist the urge to say I told you so when you knew he was in for a fall and he didnt heed your wisdom...and you were there to pick up the pieces of broken hearts when he would fall. Protector...a lioness would do well to watch Peggy as she protected the boy she raised through every pratfall he could navigate in this life...Others beware when messing with Ms. Peggys child, the wrath of the Almighty might have paled in comparison! Today is the birthday of this special lady...The Lady I have been blessed with by God Himself to call Mom....If I were to make billions of dollars I could never repay you for all you have done for me in this life. If I could command the stars to move, my voice would pale before the love words you have spoken into my life. All that I am, all that I know, all that I dare to dream are because in the very beginning of time, God in His infinite wisdom chose you to give me breath. I love you mom, and I pray this day, your birthday, is filled with joy, laughter, warmth, and love. HAPPY BIRTHRDAY PEGGY JO!!!
