In the calendar year 2014 the Millersburg Fire Company #1 responded to a total of 193 calls. The top ten responders for the year were: Assistant Chief Mark Koppenhaver 127 Terry Spotts 121 Branson Smith 118 John Heckert 112 Chief Douglas Snyder 110 Vincent Heckert 102 Sean Grimm 93 Gene Crosby 86 Paul Enders 86 Captain Colby Challenger 71. The average arrival time of the first fire company unit at the scene of a call was 8 minutes 56 seconds after dispatch. The fire company responded to 93% of its dispatched calls in the Millersburg/Upper Paxton Twp. area. The remainder of the calls were mutual aid assistance to the surrounding areas and Out of County responses. A breakdown on the types of alarms dispatched were Medical Assists (19%) Structure Fires (15%) Fire Alarms (13%) Motor Vehicle Accidents (9%) Service Calls (8%) Natural Cover Fires (6%) Water Rescue Calls (3%) and other calls make up the remainder. Incident types were Rescue & EMS Incidents 58; Good Intent 47 Fires 41 Service Calls 18 Hazardous Conditions 15 False Calls 8 Special Incidents 5; Weather Related 1. The breakdown by month was: January 22 October 19 July 18 April and May 17 June and December 16 August 15 March and September 14 February 13 November 12. Responses by days of the week were: Friday 35 Saturday 33 Tuesday 32 Monday 28 Wednesday 25 Sunday 22 Thursday 18. The fire company is 100% Volunteer.
