In the final analysis, this much has to be said - today has been historic not because of the Quantity, but because of the Quality of the verdict - Today, we put our Indianness above our Narrow Domestic Walls (as Guruji Rabindranath Tagore had said) of Religion, Caste, Creed; Region, Ethinicity and what-else-not and voted, fearlessly; as Indians for an Enlightened - not a retrograde - Idea of India! The 22/39 in Bihar and the 73(!!!)/82 in UP would Not have been possible had not a very sizeable proportion of Muslim citizens voted for the BJP - Today, we put our Indianness above our Hindutva and Islamiyat, our Bharatiyata above our Hindu (Akhand) Rashtriyata / Ummah and our Patriotism above out Jatiyata / Biradari / Quomi Ekta ... Today, we refused to be held hostage to fears (no doubt well founded) of the past, of Communalism, of Partition; of Godhra and Ahmedabad - and have all voted as Indians, Not as Hindus or Muslims or any other Religion. The only Religion is Development, and like it or not; BJP has captured the Center, it is the new Congress, and the old Congress? Well, it is a footnote, consigned to the Dustbin of History - and THAT is the change! Jai Hind!!
