In the late 90s, I was cast in a play about the that centered on the riots here after the Rodney King beating and subsequent not guilty verdict of the officers. The play was called Souls On Fire at the Met Theater. I love performing live on stage above anything. Sometimes you work with other actors that you instantly bond with and continue a rich friendship that goes past your working days. Sometimes you remain friends. I had the good fortune to make friends with a cast member of this show named Lina Gallegos; a inclusive, warm, funny and sweetheart of a person. She & I became fast friends, (no romance, just friends). Shed invite me to her home in Manhattan Beach at least twice a year or more for parties or just a small dinner party. I always enjoyed myself, and if I missed one invite, shed always make me feel like Id be a chump if I missed the next one. . Well, I learned that Lina pasted away last month and Ive been so saddened by her passing. Her ashes will be spread at the beach on Saturday afternoon so I will attend. She was a beautiful human being as well as a dynamite access and writer. I will truly miss you Lina, rest in peace and thank you for being in my life.... Gods speed!..
