In the middle of tough times and when we’re all very busy, sometimes a tragedy makes us stop. Tonight I was driving on Highway 31, and I saw a car on the opposite side of the highway veer off into a deep ditch. I rushed to dial 911, and in the three minutes it took me to turn around at the next exit, five other people had also come to the man’s rescue. I don’t know these people’s names, but I know that everybody’s response was to pull over and stop to help. Male, female, young, old, black, white. South Carolina stopped to help South Carolina. And this is the South Carolina I know and love. Be safe everyone. - Gloria
