In the midst of anti-immigrant chatter, Tony Hernandez could only think of the immigrants he knew growing up in Union City, New Jersey. People with solid values, who worked hard to achieve small victories that, with a little luck in some cases, led to big successes. There existed some sort of disconnect, he thought. How could a nation not want these people? Perhaps the lessons of the immigrant experience had been completely lost to subsequent generations.
