In the morning of July 25, 2014, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen chaired the meeting of the Office of the Interdisciplinary Steering Committeeof thorough handling of establishments which cause serious environmental pollution. According to Decision No. 1788/ QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the list of 478 thoroughly handling establishments which cause serious environmental pollution, of which there are 43 remaining establishments in accordance with Decision No. 64/2003/QD-TTg (including the handling of 13 production and business establishments must be completed before June 30, 2014, the handling of 20 and 10 hospitals landfill must be completed before December 31, 2015) and 172 establishments having the deadline of handling in 2013 and 2014. Presenting report at the meeting, the Chief of General Office under Vietnam Environment Administration Hoang Van Thuc, Acting Steering Committee Office, said that there have been 25/172 establishments having the deadline of handling in 2013 and 2014 was completed with thoroughly handling measures of pollution, accounting for 14.62% (of which 12 were certified for completion, accounting for 7.02%, 13 establishments basically no longer pollute the environment that are completing the certification process, accounting for 7.6%). In addition, there are 07 establishments (06 establishments with handling deadline up to 2016 and 01 establishment with handling deadline in 2017) also completed the thoroughly handling, of which 01 establishment were certified for completion and 06 establishments have basically completed. Thus, until now, there are a total of 32/435 establishments under the Decision No. 1788 / QD-TTg of the Prime Minister (not including 43 remaining establishments with Decision No. 64/2003/QD-TTg) have completed thorough handling (accounting for 7.36%). At the meeting, members of the Office of the Steering Committee discussed the regulations for the organization and operation of the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee;Draft Regulation on organization and operation of the Office assisting the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee.
