In the name of God the Most Gracious the Most Merciful ((Statement)) Regarding the death sentence upon the Jurist ClericAyatuAllah Shaikh Nemer Baqir Alnemer With more astonishment and surprising, for unexpected sentence and a dangerous precedent since decades, the Criminal Court in Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, Wednesday, 15 October 2014, has decreed a death sentence to the Jurist Scholar Shaikh Nemer Baqir Alnemer. Alnemer’s arrest in 8 July 2012, after he was being shot and disabled, had aroused a social and political indignation locally and regionally. This sentence is totally political and came after 13 sessions in Riyadh and Jeddah courts. The political sentence started in the first session in 26 March 2013 when the prosecutor had false accusations. These false accusations did not live up for death sentence even in case it is proven. The case, it has not been proven and Shaikh Nemer with his attorney refuted them in the memo of respond in more than 60 pages given to the court in 15 June 2014. Shaikh Nemer, May God save him, started by saying: “These papers are in response to the (General Suit List) made by the Prosecution and Investigation Body on me: Nemer bin Baqir Ameen Al Nemer. I will respond to them organising a page after a page, a paragraph after a paragraph, a clause after a clause, a line after a line, a sentence after a sentence and I shall be obliged to the right and truth even if it is misused to condemn me and punish me. I am entrusted and helped by God.” We wished from Owners of the Virtues, the judges, to work with the principle which says “one is considered innocent until proven guilty”. We wished they had reflected on the memo of response carefully, accurately, thoughtfully, impartiality and apart from the dictations of the outside space. This outside space has an immoral sectarian alignment, mobilization and congestion which the country and the Islamic nation live. At this time the country and the children of the nation are looking forward to be unified and coherent against the disorder and segregation to face the challenges and the disruptions, to fight off terrorism and extremism which touch everyone in this country by the extremists and the terrorists groups. We wished they looked carefully on the peaceful and non-violent approach which has rejected always, forever, clearly and plainly any violence or weapon, even the use of stones to face the bullets. This only needs a little search to find out the truth which is totally different from the persecutor suit, which he did not provide a single convincing and fair evidence. It is enough to mention Shaikh Nemer famous and published quote recorded in a video “The sound of the word is stronger in facing the sound of the bullets.” We wished from the judges to scrutinize and look carefully a little bit in Alnemer’s vision on the political reformation wanted to the country. It was mentioned in his memo of response to the prosecution suit. Shaikh Alnemer has already presented a ‘memo reform needs’ to His Highness Prince Jelawi bin Abdulaziz bin Msaed Al Saud, the Deputy of the Eastern Province Prince, when he met him in early July 2008. At this time, we assure our objection to this sentence and we ask the Court of Cassation to repeal it totally, we call the good men from scholars, intellectuals, politicians, thinkers and writers in the country. Those men who have already rejected the oppression and supported the oppressed, feeling responsible religiously and morally to express by the legal means which they see about their dissatisfaction and non-acceptance to this sentence and to the other death sentences decreed to the young and juvenile as these sentences have negative consequences and sequences that no sane and loyal to the country would accept it. Many thanks and gratitude to everyone made an effort or stood to defend Shaikh Nemer, especially the great religious scholars, writers, intellectuals, and the human rights bodies, and not to forget the martyrs and their families, the detained and their families. At the end, as we are concerned about our country and to achieve the necessity of the state and the needs of the society, we call all the sincere citizens to communicate truly to find the reasons behind the situation we live today in the region. We call to take a brave initiative to solve the country’s problems generally and firstly, the poisoners issue, and all the prisoners. There is no doubt that would be a short way to unify people against violence and terrorism. May God save our country from any harm and misfortune. Peace Be Upon You.
