In the past 2 days I was given 2 heartwarming compliments. Last night my son Justin told me I was the most nurturing person he knew. ( that made me feel so good inside because I have loved my children and all their friends always)... Then today after school, as I walked the class to the bus..a very handsome young man came into the school yard with some of our behavior children... Walking them to the bus... He said MRS. LUCAS.?? (Yes. ) Do you recognize me? (Hmm? You do look familiar, but Im so bad with names....sorry.) my name is William S....... ( OMG!! Billy !! I had you in 5th & 6th grade! Like 14 years ago!!!). Yes!! (And he gave me a big hug!) I asked what made him get involved with troubled children.... And told him how PROUD I was of him!! And he said Actually YOU had a lot to do with it!! All my best memories of school were with you...you made it fun...and always talked to me back then... Ive never forgotten you..Or that you wore MICKEY Mouse every day.....and still do I see! Haha. I dont know when I will see you again..so can I get another hug? ( I am tearing up again just thinking about him!) I was so proud....my heart doubled in size and I realized I HAVE made a difference in some kids lives......pay stinks but the job is so rewarding in that way.
