In the past 24 hours, 2 of Austin Pets Alive!s dryers have caught on fire, one of which melted the inside of the wash room walls. Fast action on part of volunteers, staff and the fire department kept everyone safe, but we are now without a wash room for the dog program. Several repairs and additional permitting is required to get this wash room up to code before we can use it again.
