In the past few years our government has continuously tried to draw the attention of the nation towards universal education by introducing the Right to Education, Mid-Day Meal Schemes, encouraging reservation of seats in public and private schools for children from scheduled categories, etc. But how successful have these steps been? Have they contributed to improve student enrollment in schools? Has the positive change, if any, been uniform across different sections of people in the country?
