In the realm of computer software, this man is one of the wealthiest and most successful people in history. In the realm of economics, this man is possibly the biggest ignoramus and jackass to ever live. (We wont get into his jackassery in education and other fields.) This sort of thing seems to be typical of a person who hits the jackpot in one field, then mistakes his good fortune for wisdom in other fields. Perhaps, in a bizarre twist, the existence and behavior of people like Gates suggests that a confiscatory wealth tax might actually be a good thing -- to the extent that it would prevent such fools from inflicting their harmful whims and insufferable arrogance on the rest of us. Do us all a big favor, Mr. Gates. Take all of your fabulous wealth and travel around the world. Hand a $10 bill (or whatever it works out to) to each man, woman, and child on the planet. Dont forget to keep a sawbuck for yourself.
