In the recent years the usage of plastics has increased, plastics everywhere, everything today is in plastics, the food we eat is wrapped in plastic, eatables, commodities and what not, everything. Just to buy two idly and chutney we buy it in plastics, We take so much pain, pass through 1000 steps to keep our home clean, leaving our environment dirty, we have literally forgotten the essence that, the environment has given the gift as home for us. Imagine the same situation of excess garbage before 100 years, during which our forefathers had lived, if it was that situation we could not had been enjoying the natural resources that they have left for us, what we are leaving for our generations to come, nothing but to thrive in horrible and extreme climatic conditions. We save money, property, gold that are not free, but what is been given free is not being saved-THE RAIN WATER, we throw plastics, accumulation of which prevents the seepage of the rain waters and lowering the level of groundwater storage, the rainwater is stored above the plastics and evaporated into the atmosphere. We even forget that, what will happen to the animals straying and eating on it, there is a good saying, what is our waste is a treasure for another. We are the sole reasons for which we struggle for survival of basic needs. The old films were black and white, there was no colour in it to show the beautiful nature and sceneries, but when every technology are there today there is no beautiful nature to show up them in screens. We the people have become so selfish and have totally forgotten the steps to be taken to protect the environment. It is the right time to think and act. It is the duty of each and every citizen to realize the impacts of solid waste generated, if we need good water and food we have to live in a sustainable manner. There is no land to dump garbage in the city except the lakes and water bodies. It is unimaginable that how much of waste is being generated by each family in the city, just for carrying small things for few hours we are spoiling the whole ecosystem. Join this awareness and let shall this small message spread the whole community, next time if we visit any shop, say no to plastics, if we need our children to live healthy, if they have to enjoy the free natural resources, we have to reduce-recycle and reuse.
