In the town of Sligo, a boy became a man. He joined the ranks of volunteers, the bravest in the land. To be an IRA volunteer, filled his heart with joy. This lad of 21 years old, who came from from magherabhoy. He loved the football and the craic, he would not stand stand idly by. Irelands cause he claimed his own, freedom was the prize. He followed in the footsteps of his comrade Kevin Cohen, to fight the British forces in, Fermanagh and Tyrone. Joseph Mc manus, came oer to join the fight. He fought and died for Irelands cause, with dignity and pride. In our hearts and in our minds, well always hold him true. Joseph Mc manus, well remember you. Joseph Mc manus, came from a long line of Irish republican stock. Many of you will remember his father, Sean Mc manus, who narrowly missed out on the old Sligo-Leitrim Dail constituency seat in the Dail, for SF on many occassions RIP Joseph Mc manus.. today is his 22nd anniversary 5th February 1992
