In the wake of public reactions, both positive and negative, to the movie American Sniper I would like to take a moment to thank our service men and women. These amazing people miss precious moments, birthdays, holidays, the birth of a child, and the passing of loved ones. They forge the strongest of bonds with their brothers and sisters and equally morn their loss. Blood, sweat and tears given willingly. All of this is done to protect our rights as Americans. Instead of overwhelming gratitude these men and women are shown criticism and hatred. Yet they continue to serve and risk their very lives to defend these people. Since those of shall we say lesser intelligence seem to think their fame entitles them to speak their misguided opinions I shall now share mine. To people like Michael Moore and Seth Rogen I say you are a disgrace. You dishonor and disrespect the memory of a real hero, something of which you will never know. You call a sniper a coward and yet you hide behind the safety of Twitter and Facebook. If faced with half the challenges this man was faced with you would no doubt faint in fear after crying for a real hero to save you. Until you have the courage to put your life on line for the safety and freedom of others keep your mouth shut and be grateful for the men and women that have sacrificed so much for your right to be able to voice your stupidity. As for me, I want to say thank you to all those that have made those sacrifices. You do what you do without any expectation of gratitude. I can think of no better example of a hero.
