In this study Im comparing Isaiah 8 with Isaiah 30 which is on the same Spoke 8 of the innerwheel of Isaiah: Isaiah 8 8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel. Isaiah 30 28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err. Notice Isaiah 8 talks about preparing Immanuels disciples. Isaiah 8 17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. 19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? 1Thessalonians 1 9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. ----------------------------------------- Isaiah 8 18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. Zechariah 8 3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain. 4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. ----------------------------------------- The famous name/phrase which also appeared in Isaiah 7 has a few good links on the 8th Spoke of the innerwheels of: Isaiah 8 10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us. Zechariah 8 23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you. Romans 8 31 What shall we then say to these things?
