In this video we see Dale Jensen, the program lead for the Washington Department of Ecologys oil spill prevention, preparedness and response team, getting chastised for an hour by the Raging Grannies for suggesting that oil trains can be made safe. Hours later he took the stage at a packed oil train hearing, where he attempted to make oil trains sound safe, and Governor Inslee (his boss) sound decisive. Meanwhile, an Idle No More rally in front of the building was finishing up. After 20 minutes of mind-numbing bureaucra-speak aimed at justifying his $300,000 dollar delay tactic (safety study), people in the back yelled let the people speak! The white man has spoken too much. He immediately left the stage. The first 5 speakers after him were indigenous leaders who outlined their sovereign right to stop oil trains and the failure of the state and federal government to protect them from oil trains. This echoed the arguments made earlier in the day by the Raging Grannies and their supporters, who blocked the entrances to the Department of Ecology by chaining themselves to their rocking chairs and to eachother. This was done in solidarity with First Nations resisting oil development in the Bakken region of North Dakota, and all the First Nations in Washington who are saying NO to oil trains. https://youtube/watch?v=z9DQnNXNZ_o&feature=youtu.be
