In this weeks #WhereAreTheyNow feature, program alumna Samar Al Shdaifat (Jordan) reflects on the continued impact of her #IVLP experience through an Op-Ed in The Boston Herald. She notes how the spirit of volunteerism she encountered in the United States has inspired her work in a region of Jordan faced with housing more than 600,000 Syrian refugees. I was amazed at the number of people who were eager to work for free, just to help out in their communities...So when I came back home, the first thing I did was to concentrate on volunteering and passing along this idea among other young people.
