In two days, on Thursday, August 14th at 5 PM, there will be a Finance Committee Meeting. We NEED people to show up and let them know the animal shelter needs more funding. Unlike other shelters we dont have a vet on staff, a foster program, funds to stay open six days a week, etc. Other metro area shelters treat common ailments like heart worms and mange, but Norman has to euthanize due to lack of funding. This can be fixed! The city is willing to work with us, BUT theyve said people need to show up at the meeting so they know we mean business. Its the only way to improve care for the homeless animals in Norman. We arent asking for anything that isnt common place at surrounding shelters, so please do your part and come. Wear red to send a visual message, that way they will know what youre supporting without even having to open your mouth, but if you would like to speak, thats even better! The meeting will be at 5 PM in the Study Session Room at 201 West Gray. I was told by the city clerk its in the Tower Building, which is the building with the clock tower on it.
