(August 26, 2013) – Both the Hardluck and Lost Lake Fires received rain over the last several days. Neither fire has grown in acreage since last week. Aerial monitoring of the Hardluck Fire yesterday noted fire activity continuing in some areas including East Fork and Clark Creeks, “but it’s not moving like it was before the monsoonal moisture came in” said Mike Hostetler, Incident Commander. The plan for the Hardluck Fire is to assess the area via aircraft to determine any remaining risk to firefighters and the public from the fire in the next day or two. Later this week crews will enter the closure area to evaluate trails for hazardous trees and begin clearing those trails in anticipation of reopening the area.
