Inciweb: Update September 10, 2013 (Orleans Complex Wildfire): Fire Weather and Fire BehaviorModerate fire activity increased along the western fire lines as east/northeast winds push the fire westward. The fire activity is occurring in unburned islands of brush with isolated torching of the timber due to low humidity low fuel moisture content hot drying temperatures and upslope winds. Butler FireDriven by east/northeast winds of up to 15mph fire burned actively on the ridge west of Butler Creek and southeast of China Creek. Containment lines continue to hold and with the warming and drying trend it is expected that the fire will make periodic runs to challenge containment lines. Crews continue to monitor critical areas along the perimeter. Fire managers have ordered additional crews to provide staffing for future defensive burning when conditions allow along active areas of the western perimeter.
