Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. ~ Surat Ar-Ra`d, Verse 11. This verse is so powerful and it relates to the conditions of us today. • Taken and modified from A message I recieved a while back • We are suffering all around the world, our brothers and sisters are being slaughtered in Syria, Palestine, Central Africa, Burma, Afghanistan etc. They are also dying from severe weather conditions, because they dont have adequate supplies to keep them warm. We have media outlets, ridiculing us in the name of ‘Free Speech’ and creating stories left right and centre to make us look guilty, while they hide their own vicious crimes and the crimes of others. And how do we react? With petitions and protests? By blaming the media? With a hashtag? They dont make a difference. We need to stop thinking that way. They are who they are. It’s no use pointing out their hypocrisy, when your opinion of them does not matter to them. The focus should not be them, the focus should be us! Unless we as an Ummah collectively stop behaving like them, and supporting their activites, Allah will withhold His support. We need to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah wholeheartedly. We need to inherit even the smallest Sunnahs that we dont think makes a difference and implement it in our lives. We need to eradicate elements of Haram in everything we do, and focus on halal. From earning halal income to wearing hijab properly, from avoiding music to having haya in our actions as well as appearance. From avoiding free-mixing to increasing our acts of charity. If we are serious about changing the condition of the Ummah, then that change needs to start in the homes of every reciter of the Shahadah. May Allah give us true understanding and grant us tawfeeq to practise and guide us to our final place in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen. deenquotes So you see, dear brothers, al-Qurtubi demonstrates in his Tafseer of this Aayah that it is not simply for the individual focus. His quotation of the Hadeeth in fact provides an admonishment, in the form of complete destruction, for the whole community if they leave others alone to practice corruption without addressing it, despite the fact that the righteous may live amongst them. Therefore, this Ayah reinforces the correctness of the work of those brothers who work to alter society collectively via their political work to bring back the Khilafah. After this lengthy explanation, we may now revisit the final meaning of the Ayah. It may be correctly rendered as, “Allah will not change what is in any nation, until they all collectively make a change occur in what is in themselves”. Please, dear brothers, do not ever again use it to mean perfection of the individul alone, or Allah (swt) will ask you concerning this on al-Qiyaamah. Wa BarakAllahu Feekum. islamified_ @deenquotes although your point is correct, I think what @awkwardmuslim is trying to outline, is that the change needs to begin from the individual, and then it can be used for political work. How are we as muslims going to give dawah is theres no barakah in every aspect of our lives? We cant show muslims what islam is, if our own behaviour does not show it. kdmdesigns loving your fresh style of dawah! @awkwardmuslim جزاك الله خير itshafsar Ameen :) eau_de_lune لا يغير الله مافي قوم حتى يغيرو مافي انفسهم polaroid4aneela Serious question, how is this awkward? minaz93 @tabishmahajan ceritapadadunia Couldnt agree more :) motivational_islamic Follow my page...in shaa Allah sharing info on happiness and Islam aishaxp @ahmedbtn @fayluvv @stay_rreall @bakar_96 to add a comment, please sign in
