Independence Day has always been my favorite holiday. I remember - TopicsExpress

Independence Day has always been my favorite holiday. I remember going to the parades and watching the firework show from the Jordan park below chalk hill. We were so close the blast took up what seemed to be the whole sky. In school we were taught that America is the free-est nation in the world and I grew up loving the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights. We were taught about the Revolutionary war and over the years Ive grown to love and admire those who fought and died and those who fought and lived to tell about it. Im uncertain of the future of America as weve steadily and increasingly declined into a state of too many unjust and overly complex laws that allow for the deprivation of personal liberty while protecting corporate or other interest. This year I respectfully celebrate the sacrifice made by so many who came before that fought with courage and valor who lost everything from their lands and homes and wives and children and even their very lives, who bled the ground red so that I might have a taste of freedom. May a righteous generation rise to fill those shoes so that We the People will again be free.
