India Bamboo Summit (IBS) is being designed as a green growth & socio economic development media initiative that will bring together the best minds from India and the world to enable and empower India’s Bamboo sector take the big leap. Our vision is to create a thought leadership platform that will build a sustainable tomorrow and drive inclusive growth by promoting the social, economic, and environmental advantages of Bamboo. Goals of India Bamboo Summit Create an annual national platform for engagement and exchange of ideas to imbibe quality processes and innovation for growth & development that will ultimately lead to employment creation, entrepreneurship development, capacity building, and skills development Get the best minds together from India and the world to discuss & deliberate pertinent issues, share best practices, research & development pertaining to bamboo sector Establish a network of committed partners with leading organizations in India and the world to strengthen, facilitate and catalyze development efforts being made for furthering the social, economic, and environmental benefits of bamboo. Organised by Green Gold Bamboo, India’s 1st Bamboo e-Magazine ‘India Bamboo Summit’ will be a 2 day event and will host more than 150 delegates. The event will be promoted heavily on national Indian news television channels like NDTV 24 X 7, CNN IBN, Zee News, Aaj Tak, IBN 7, CNBC, CNBC Awaaz, Zee Business. Proceedings of the 2 day event will be telecast on national television as 30 minutes episodes. A conglomeration of bamboo business stakeholders India Bamboo Summit will seek participation of senior officials from government departments & ministries like forest and environment, agriculture, handicrafts, textiles, science and technology, commerce, rural development, tribal affairs, small scale industries and Ministry of development of North Eastern region Special delegates will be invited from international organizations like the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, American Bamboo Society, Chinese Bamboo Society, and International Network for Bamboo and Rattan, World Bamboo Organization We would also invite participation of successful global bamboo entrepreneurs from organizations like EcoPlantetBamboo, Teragren, Green Micro Finance, BambooLiving, Oprins and young new age entrepreneurs from organisations like BambooGivesBack IBS will invite delegates from organisations like North Eastern Council (NEC), Cane and Bamboo Technology Center (CBTC); Bamboo & Cane Development Institute (BCDI), Assam Bamboo and Cane Development Agency (ABCD), Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), National Institute of Design (NID), Centre for Indian Bamboo Resource and Technology (CIBART), Uttaranchal Bamboo Development Centre (UBDC), Institute of Village Enterprise Development for Handicraft Artisans (VEDHA India) We will invite representation from Industry associations ASSOCHAM, FICCI, CII and expect founders of successful enterprises related to bamboo sector to be part of IBS. Aspiring bamboo handicraft entrepreneurs and bamboo pioneers and leaders from across the world will also be part of the Summit. We will seek active participation of potential investors including companies from industry sectors like Paper, Textiles, Building Materials, Energy, and Home Furnishings along with banking and financial institutions. Academic institutions like IIT, IIM, NID, NIFT etc. will also be expected to send their delegation to India Bamboo summit. All in all, IBS has been dreamt of as a conglomeration of stakeholders from across the entire bamboo business value chain and from across India and the world.
