India has been running her own affairs since the actual transfer of power from British to Indian hands on 15th August 1947. Mahatma Gandhi wrote in “Harijanâ€, “The best, quickest and most efficient way is to build up from the bottom . . . Every village has to become a self-sufficient republic. This does not require brave resolutions. It requires brave, corporate, intelligent work. . .†Are the governments at various levels, government functionaries / officials, our esteemed elected representatives and responsible citizens striving towards accomplishing the vision / dreams of the Father of the Nation in reality and in true letter & spirit?
