Indian is a super hit film which had Kamal Haasan in the lead role. This film was directed by Shankar. In the climax of this film itself, Shankar has given an indication that there will be a sequel to this film. There is information now that Shankar after completing I will start the work connected with Indian 2. For the first time Kamal will be sharing the screen with Surya in this film. After completing I, Shankar will hold the discussions regarding this film. It has been planned to produce this film at a cost of Rs 125 Crores. Kamal Haasan will don the role of the grandfather while Surya will don the role of his grandson. It is also confirmed that Surya will act in this film because he was very much interested to act in Shankar’ film. Moreover Surya will also not refuse because he considers Kamal as is mentor. With regards to the producer, there will be no problem. Kamal is currently busy in his film Viswaroopam and after this he will be donning the lead role in the Tamil film titled Bitter Chocolate. Surya who has completed Singam 2 will be acting in the films to be directed by Gautam Menon and Lingusamy concurrently. Both Kamal and Surya after completing their current projects will join hands in Indian 2.
