Indiana Technology Trends Report ♦ While 95% of Indiana schools report having cell phone policies, only 29% allow phones to be used during instructional time. ♦ 42% of Indiana schools report no formal use of social media, but some schools are taking steps to utilize these tools including Facebook (42%) and Twitter (34%). ♦ Schools implementing 1-to-1 devices using a grade-level approach are more likely to send the devices home with students than schools approaching 1-to-1 in other ways. ♦ Approximately 66% of Indiana schools have begun to virtualize their servers with 66% reporting they are likely to do so in the future. Some schools (16%) also report progress on deploying virtualized desktops.
