Indidents from yesterday No 1: Shannon Coast Guard heli R115 tasked for cardiac medevac from Skiberrean to Cork. Whilst at Cork airport refuelling after the first meeting retasked for an urgent medevac of a 5 year old child to Temple street Hospital. Transfer of child and medical team completed and RTB by 0130. Kinsale Coast Guard cliff team tasked to an injured girl on the cliffs beside Garrylucas beach. Female recovered by the team to an ambulance. Rescue 116 was tasked while training in the Mourne Mountains to Fair Head, Co Antrim, to reports of four persons cut off at the base of a cliff. Once on scene the winch man recovered 3 persons to the aircraft which then landed on to handover the casualties to the North western Coastguard unit. The fourth casualty was airlifted to Aldegrove for an Ambulance transfer. The aircraft used was EISAR - 52 years old and the oldest SAR heli in operation in the world and coming up soon to retirement. Reports of 2 children in the water beside upturned canoe. Skerries RNLI launched. Kids had made it ashore on arrival and were wearing lifejackets. Ballinskelligs CRBI rescue boat and Knightstown Coast Guard tasked to reports of kids on body boards in danger of being washed up on rocks. Teams made their way down and kids had made it ashore. parents advised that the children would be safer if wearing flotation devices as they were only betweeb 8 and 13 years old.
