"Indo-Pak All time combined ODI-XI" One PakPassion.net member writes the following: pakpassion.net/ppforum/showthread.php?t=185281 "Over the years many theories has been put forth by the cricket pundits that why Pakistan is factory of good to great fast bowlers and India’s cricket is populated with good to great batsmen. It is uncanny that, despite being carved from the same tract of land, India has failed to produce pace bowlers of any substance apart from one or two and Pakistan could only have two or three great batsmen in the history of their cricket. I wonder what would have happened if India and Pakistan had played together. A superb batting with a destructive bowling together would have ruled the cricketing world for a good period like West Indies and Australia did. If we had played together, who would possibly have made to all time Indo-Pak ODI XI. My choice is: Openers: Bowler’s nightmare two most attacking batsmen with left and right hand combination. I choose Saeed Anwer over Sehwag and Ganguly as Ganguly is included in middle order and Sehwag’s record not so impressive in ODIs. Saeed is very similar to Sehwag as far as attacking cricket is concerned additionally he is technically better and a left hander to form a right and left hand combination. Sachin Tendulkar – No brainer probably the best ODI batsmen ever Saeed Anwer – One of the most graceful batsmen to watch add to this his ability to destroy bowling attacks with complete range of shots. Middle order: A mixture of aggression and defense, ideally to have one left hander. Ganguly is included ahead of Dravid and Zaheer Abbas for two reasons. One he is left hander and other he can be used as a part time bowler. Though Zaheer was beast in his short career but too short to be included ahead of him. My other two choices Javed Miandad and Inzmam need no justification. The closest candidates are Mohammad Yousaf and Virat Kohli. SC Ganguly- Opener by trade, but a great batsman can bat anywhere, so placed at one down. He was lethal on off side of the wicket equally good against fast and spin. Javed Miandad – A gutsy immaculate accumulator in the middle order who is perfect choice to compliment aggressive top order and attacking lower order Inzamam-ul-Haq – Among one of the best match winners who can be defensive and shift his gears to attack at will. Imran rates him as one of the best batsmen against pace bowling but he was equally good against spinners. Wicketkeeper – Ideally to have a wicketkeeper who is decent enough with both bat and keeping, fortunately we have one of the all time best wicket keeper batsmen at our disposal so no competition in this department what so ever. I chose one and only Mr. Dhoni. MS Dhoni (W.K) – Only one line to describe him ‘the best finisher of the Game’. All-rounders: We have two choices either we select another batsman who is decent enough bowler and can be used as 5th bowler along with Ganguly, Sachin and J.M or we have two genuine all-rounders. If we choose first option best candidate is Yuvraj, however with batting lineup we already have we should go with second option so we could have equally good bowling lineup. We have two great all-rounders and one of the all time best bowling-allrounder. Imran Khan (C) –There would have been no better choice to captain the team that is packed with superstars. Very good batsman and a destructive bowler both with new and old ball, his yorkers would be ideal for depth bowling. Kapil Dev – An Ideal batsman for lower order. He has a S.R of 95 in era when average S.R was 70-75. A perfect new bowl bowler with good accuracy coupled with swing. Wasim Akram – All time best fast bowler of ODIs who can do anything with the ball either new or old and an ideal bowler for depth bowling. Bowlers: We have got 03 all-rounders who are among all time best fast bowlers. Whether we go with another fast bowler and one spinner or select two spinners. I think the sub-continental fast bowlers are equally effective on slow and batting wickets as they are on seaming and bowling friendly pitches and keeping in view the quality of resources available to us I would likely to go with another fast man and that is none other than Waqar. Shoaib is the closest contender for. For spin post Sqlain the original magician is head and shoulder above others as far as ODIs are concerned. Waqar Younis – Fastest bowler of his time his vicious toe crushing yorkers would be too hot to handle by any batsmen. Saqlain Mushtaq – A true genius, inventor of dosra , pioneer among spinners to bowl in depth overs, fastest to 100 and 200 ODI wickets. All time XI - Sachin Tendulkar, Saeed Anwar, Saurav Ganguly, Javed Miandad , Inzamam Ul Haq, Ms Dhoni, Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Saqlain Mushtaq. Those who narrowly missed: Sehwag, Zaheer Abbas, Dravid, Yousaf, Kohli, Shoaib Akhtar and Saeed Ajmal." #cricket
