Indy Speaks Out: We should at least care for those who fought for our country--India Recently, CHIP asked people in downtown Indianapolis what they thought were the causes of homelessness and what we can do to fix it. India said she had just run into someone who said he was a homeless veteran. “These are people who fought for our country. Why are they homeless? And even if they fought in the Viet Nam war and there weren’t services available then, there’s more money now. Why don’t (we) at least take care of the people who fought for our country!” Join CHIP for an in-depth discussion of The Cost of Doing Nothing: A Conversation on Poverty at our annual fundraiser on Thurs., Sept. 12 from 4-6 pm at the NCAA Christine Grant Ballroom.
