Informa Economics has lowered its US wheat production estimate to a little over two billion bushels. That’s three percent less than last month, and about 11 percent less than last year’s crop. The winter wheat crop is forecast at 1.476 billion bushels, down 10 percent from a year ago. Informa pegs the spring wheat crop at 482 million bushels, 11 percent below last year. The average yield of 40.3 bushels per acre, is down from last year’s 45 bushel average.
