Initiative time.... Logging, the original and founding commerce in Oakhurst, has held strong and drawn more new settlers, and travelers over the centuries then any other profession in the city. Since then, tanners, potters, huntsman, and farmers of all kinds have settled down on the outskirts of the city walls. Their farm steads, stone walls and picket fences spreading for many miles across the rolling feilds that used to be thick forest. Later came industrial warehouses, and black smiths, creating quarries and mining the lands around for steal and stone. Today there are many smaller patches of forest around the oakhurst lands. These smaller forest are the remaining woodlands from the original elven forests of ages past. All around them are hunting logs and timber mills. The people working them daily, cutting trees and hunting the remaining game. Because this has been Oakhursts main source of commerce and food for years, the remaining resources are beginning to deplete, no longer sufficient to support its growing population. Logs has become a much more need commodity, for building and paper making for the citys records and newly founded schools. Game has become scarce, and the lands incapable of feeding the farm steads many farm animals such as sheep, mule, cattle, and many more domesticated animals. With the growing street violence this problem has become much worse, as many stage coaches and merchant wagons have been ambushed and their supplies and food taken. The heirs of the throne have decreed a city wide call to all who can help in the citys plight at this time. Emissaries are to be sent to local neighboring kingdoms to ask for assistance with the food shortages and many new guardsmen and adventurers have been hired from all around to guard and protect many wagon trains as they make their ways to the oakhurst lands. Your party has been selected and paid well to help where you can. With your dealing with the guard and the citys ordeals with nine tales, you have gained significant trust with the throne. At 8th level how would you assist the city of Oakhurst in its time of need. Do you help with the food plight, if so how? Do you guard the traveling wagons, protecting it aling its ling journey to Oakhurst,? Or do you help ib another way?
