Installment No. 12 -- recording artists affected by pancreatic cancer: Huw Justin Smith, a/k/a, Pepsi Tate, was the bass player for the Welsh glam metal band Tigertailz. Active in the mid-late-1980s and into the 90s, Tate left music for a while and worked as a producer for BBC Wales. The band reformed in the mid-2000s, Tate was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007. He died on September 18, 2007, shortly after marrying his longtime girlfriend, Welsh opera singer Shan Cothi.
