Instapaper’s Chrome extension gets right-click saving, highlighting for article descriptions and more Nick Summers Instapaper updated its Chrome extension today with some new features that should make it even easier to archive content for its cross-platform, save-it-for-later reading service. You can now right-click on any link within Chrome and instantly save it to Instapaper. From the menu, a new ‘Save to Instapaper’ option should appear, which should prove useful when browsing Twitter or reading features with a number of related articles linked throughout. Instapaper loyalists can also highlight a passage in the chosen article and, in a similar fashion, use the right-click option to save the piece with their selection as the article description. Today’s update also gives users the ability to save their current article using the shortcut Cmd+Shift+S on Mac OS X and Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows. Reaching for the ‘I’ button in the top right-hand corner of the browser is hardly strenuous, but it’s a welcome addition all the same. Developer Betaworks added an inline ‘Save to Instapaper’ button for Twitter, Reddit, Hacker News and Digg last month, and now Union Square Ventures has been added to the roster of supported sites. Furthermore, users can now toggle these buttons and the aforementioned shortcuts through an updated Options menu. These are small tweaks, but ensure that the Instapaper remains competitive with rival services such as Pocket and Readability. ➤ More love for Instapaper’s browser extension (Blog Post) ift.tt/1c9uJ0w Source: ift.tt/1bdy0Pu Related news: wsoshop
