Interesting. This sarcastic poster provokes serious consideration within me. I have always described myself as a democrat and a capitalist. Both opinions held with such conviction that they have become ir-rebutably presumptive in my mind. But could it be that, within the social conditions created by democracy, there will inevitably be planted the seeds for its own destruction? I am a republican because I am convinced that understanding human nature suggests meta-limitations must be superimposed upon any democratic model. But...perhaps...even a constitution(those imposed limitations here in the US) will never be enough. I shudder at the implication.
