Interesting article in @Telegraph today about how healthy foods have risen in cost more than unhealthy foods. The study has been on a limited number of foods, comparing 1000 calories of so-called healthy foods such as salmon and tomatoes to unhealthy foods such as burgers and doughnuts. fw.to/CDXBnpW - My take on this is that cheap, tasty and nutritious is easily achievable (most of the Go Faster Kids recipes are under £2 a head), the problem is the large % of the population who just dont know HOW to make healthy choices. For all sorts of reasons. And the food industry is not making it any easier for us by churning out all this processed stuff. The article doesnt mention staples like pulses, pasta, starchy veg etc. Take last nights supper, for instance - chickpea, sweet potato and spinach soup - easy-peasy to make and cheap as chips (scuse the pun, but around 75p a head) or this butternut squash pasta. gofasterfood/fuel_up_for_action.php?s=rigatoni-with-butternut-squash-pancetta-and-thyme … Rant over!
