Interesting fact. I was running a steel mill in Alabama when 9/11 happened. Within a couple of weeks, our fabrication company in South Carolina was contacted by the contractor rebuilding the Pentagon. The end result is that we provided steel billets (like ingots) from our Alabama mill to our South Carolina rolling mill to make the rebar that was fabricated and used to rebuild the Pentagon. The project was appropriately called Project Phoenix. All of our employees were given a patch by the contractor to wear on our uniforms. We were proud to contribute in this small way.
