Interesting how Christianity and religion have evolved with, and taken its cue from, capitalism. On Sunday religion offers a service to enhance your life. In exchange for this product ,members are expected to pay a tithe. In some places this law is not so rigid while in others you can be excommunicated for not following this rule. In addition this hits the poor harder than any one. They are expected to give regardless of the fact that they may not be able to even pay their own bills. Furthermore, the rich make out the best. As churchs must establish budgets, and the tithes of the rich make up the bulk of the churchs income, the rich end up having the most power and control in these organizations. Hard to imagine that the followers of the poor homeless laborer who blessed the poor and cursed the rich have so easily succumbed to such a paradigm.
