Interesting letter sent to me! Friends, As many of you already know, there has been a call for Black America to collectively take a stand against acts of injustice following the non-indictment of Officer Darren Wilson. As Ive said before, Im standing in solidarity with my brothers and sisters; however, Im imploring us to take our frustrations a step further by making it a daily routine to financially support Black-owned businesses. Statistically speaking, Black business owners are more likely to employ Black employees than any other ethnic group. During our New Paradigm forum last year with Min. Louis Farrakhan, he mentioned the fact that the Jewish community does a wonderful job of protecting and growing its wealth via cooperative economics. After teaching Finance for the last 20 years, I can say that Min. Farrakhan is probably the most economically self-sufficient black leader in America. Theres at least one other populace in America that we should observe -- Asian Americans. While Black Americans are being tossed back and forth in corrupt political and judicial systems, Asian Americans have consistently had the lowest voter turnout and virtually no representation in the political and judicial systems; however, they have the highest median income, their businesses have the best average outcomes of all major racial groups, and they possess very strong family and cultural values. In the Asian American community, the dollar circulates for 30 days before it reaches any other community. If you travel to any major city in the US, youll find a Chinatown complete with grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and many other businesses. What you wont find in Chinatown is a Black-owned business selling egg foo young or any other traditional Chinese dish, because members of the community would refuse to patronize it. Ironically though, if you visit a Black neighborhood, youll find Chinese business owners selling hair products to Black men and women (although their hair texture is nothing like ours) with a number of Black customers inside. We have to restore a sense of pride in our households and change the way we think about money. While supplies last, the Your Black World Network is offering you the Proud to Be Black Package, valued at $90, which includes filmmaker Tariq Nasheeds 5-star rated Hidden Colors DVD series on sale (while supplies last) for $49.99+shipping. Heres exactly what the package includes: • Hidden Colors: The Untold History of People of Aboriginal, Moor, and African Descent (DVD): Featuring Dr. Umar Johnson and many other influential scholars in Black America, sheds light on the untold stories that Americas public school system would never share about African history. Some of the specific topics discussed are: the original image of Christ, the original people of Asia, West African empires, and much, much more! • Hidden Colors 2: The Triumph of Melanin (DVD): Featuring Dr. Claud Anderson, Dr. Umar Johnson, KRS-ONE, and many other notable activists in Black America, sheds light on the prison industrial complex, the downfall of thriving Black economic communities, Native Americans, and additional topics that are relevance to Black America. • Hidden Colors 3: The Rules of Racism (DVD): Featuring Dick Gregory, Nas, David Banner, and many other influential voices in Black America, discusses modern-day plights of Black America due to institutional racism. The film also explores how this institutionalized approach to oppression is pushed through legislation to maintain control. • What If George Bush Were a Black Man? (Electronic Book): In his common unapologetic delivery, finance scholar and social commentator Dr. Boyce Watkins outlines how white privilege enabled former President George Bush to become President of the United States of America, despite drug usage, mediocre grades, and an overall lack of intelligence needed to run one of the most respected countries in the world. At the bottom, Click to learn more about the Proud to Be Black Package! Asian Americans only make up 5 percent of the USAs population; however, they have emerged as one of the most powerful groups in America by sticking together. Black America can also attain power by sticking together, policing our own neighborhoods, teaching our own children, and patronizing our own businesses. We only need to look at our history to realize how capable we are of doing this. The Proud to Be Black Package offers empowering information that you can review, study, and discuss with your entire family over the holiday season. It restores the very belief that we have many reasons to be proud of our heritage, despite what any research or television network says about us. Lets restore that pride -- if not for us, for our children. Until we meet again, be blessed, be strong, and be educated. Dr. Boyce Watkins P.S.
