Interesting perspective from this video. People are often very quick to ignore and/or cut negative people out of their lives because of all the usual mantras you hear from these self-help gurus about needing to stay positive and avoid people that are what they refer to as chronically negative. While I agree some people really are overly negative to the point that they are almost addicted to it, I think that a lot of people have gotten the wrong message from these self help teachers. Sometimes a person really does have issues, and just needs a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or just the acknowledgement of a friend to show them that they arent alone. Dont let the lesson from these videos, books, or presentations be that you should become a fair-weathered friend. They are referring to people that are just negative no matter what is happening in their lives, not your friends that are just having a bad day, or going through a rough patch in their life. We live in a digital age of social media, where human interaction is commonly replaced by text messages and facebook posts. Dont forget what it means to be a true friend to people. If a friend of yours says they had a bad day, talk to them about it, offer your help, or just try and cheer them up by spending some time with them.
