The words "Kiowa Indian Tribe" as used in this document shall have the same meaning as "The Kiowa Indian Tribe of Oklahoma." ***** PREAMBLE ***** We, the members of the Kiowa Indian Tribe of Oklahoma, in order to promote better community relations with other Indian tribes and non-Indian; to safe-guard and protect the rights, privileges and interest of all Kiowa Indians; to improve the social and economic, medical and other advantages for tribal members regardless of location or residence, to promote the common welfare and to bring the membership of the Kiowa Indian Tribe into a more closely knit and cooperative relationship; do hereby establish this organization and adopt the following constitution and bylaws. Meaning we are a "TRIBE of people who became "ORGANIZED" and the name of the organization id called "The Kiowa Tribe Of Oklahoma"... When we adopted the Kiowa Constitution, we then became recognized by the Federal Government as a "Nation"... A Federally recognized "Self-Governed" NATION. Because we are now considered a "Nation", our location makes us to be a "Nation within a Nation" The Nation of the United States is what surrounds us. CONCLUSION: We are in fact a Nation of our own which is made up of a Tribe of people of the Kiowa Race that goes by the name of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma.
