So, my last blog was about the Sammy the cocker spaniel page on Facebook, and how I was hoping they’d join the fight to Reform Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter. They joined the fight, alright…but not what I was expecting from the admins. Martin and Christine, two admins on that page, decided to go take a look at the shelter after they appeared on The Tommy G Show (an AM / internet show here in NJ). According to them, the conditions were great. Cages clean, animals taken care of…e on. I went on the page and asked them if they saw the 7-day hold room, which is the room lost pets and intakes would be placed in before going up for adoption. Initially, they said they did not. They said they looked into the Isolation room, but were not allowed in because of possible “airborne pathogens”. Here’s where it gets interesting…. I questioned their assessment of the shelter, and made it clear that there are issues that could not be seen during a site walk that still need to be addressed. Lack of record keeping on animals, no (active) supervisory vet, health code violations regarding euthansia methods…and I said that he fell for the smoke and mirrors. Guess what? I got my comments deleted, and I am no longer allowed to post on the page. They have now also said that they saw the 7-day hold room. Really? I am writing this response, since I am no longer allowed to post on their page, in hopes that one of their supporters will leak it back to them. SO HERE IT IS FOLKS: Martin and Christine, The fact that you blocked me from voicing my opinion on your page is a pathetically weak move. Why was I blocked? Because I disagreed with you? Because my posts may have cast doubt among your followers as to whether you were being factual or not? I was never rude, never threatening, and did nothing to warrant such a response. You can claim that posts were not deleted, however I have proof they were. Sammy1 Facebook emails me every time I get tagged in a post or reply, which you did. Now that reply is gone from your page. And the screen cap below shows that there is no way for me to comment or add a post on your page. Pathetic. Sammy2 Here’s a side note that you might not know – Tommy G isn’t the only one that is on the internet with a radio show. Maybe you should check out PTRRadio – site for the show I have been involved with for the last 10 years with more podcast subscribers than you have followers. Now, about that whole flip-flop on the 7-day holding room: In order to get to that room, because of the way the building is set up, you have to GO THROUGH THE ISOLATION ROOM! But you’re claiming that you didn’t go in there because of fear of pathogens? Are you some kind of mystical teleporter? Did you have an out-of-body experience to get into that room? The proof is there. I don’t know what got into you, but what you’re reporting is bullshit. There are holes in your story, but you have tons of people who think that you’re word is gospel.
